Artist's Statement
When an independent artist makes the big commitment to support themselves as a way of life by means of the very thing that drives them to exist, such as is the case with Andy Zamenes, root passions for their art form can't help but rise to the forefront, defining their art as an even fuller expression of who they are. Surviving in the real world standing on that daunting ledge with no safety net to catch their next fall is what keeps most artists from taking that leap of faith.
Andy Zamenes has found a successful means to that end. Making good use of his music degree and his desire to share his music with kids, "Andy Z" has created his own niche in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. A performing artist and singer/songwriter for the
past 15 years, Andy earned a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Music from San Francisco State University in 1994. His degree helped him hone his performance and teaching skills, and served to help him open some new doors...
| "I first realized my ability to connect with children through music when I began playing local farmer's markets in the (San Francisco) bay area," he further explains. "I noticed that they were particularly drawn to my music. Some would even insist their parents stop and listen. In the following weeks, I started incorporating children's songs into my sets, and the response from children and adults was very positive."

ANDY Z is a children’s performer, singer/songwriter and educator from the San Francisco Bay Area whose music touches the hearts of all ages. Andy will have your children smiling, singing and dancing as he takes them on a tour of Andyland. His story/adventure-based performances feature traditional, original and contemporary songs that often incorporate themes from his award-winning “Welcome to Andyland” CD,
his debut “Pockets” CD, and his latest CD “Return to Andyland”.

Andy's Appeal
Andy draws children into the story with a mix of finger plays, sing-a-longs and pure body movement songs. Musical genres include rock, classic brit pop, classic kid, country, hip-hop, the blues, and Irish music. Andy's solo shows are ideal for kids 3 to 7 years of age, but can be enjoyed by all.
Shows
In addition to playing solo shows, Andy Z also performs with his group the Andyland Band.
These shows feature the same wonderful themes as his solo shows do, but also incorporate props, costumes and songs that benefit from the harmonic energy that an electric band can provide.
